All about ATV Tires
ATV Tires is one of the meanest construct in tires I have ever seen, maybe a close second to Bigfoot trucks, and you can still use a tire tread depth gauge on them. With large powerful threads that eats up any kind of terrain and super resilient tire material that protects from punctures, these awesome tires make an ATV adventure one of the coolest extreme thrill rides in off road sports.
In case you didn’t know, ATV tires are designed to perform better in a specific terrain, like the Sand tires (also referred to as Paddle tires) which as the name implies perform very well on sandy and loose gravel terrain. But that doesn’t limit the Paddle tires’ gamut of usefulness; it can still do fairly well with other types of terrain.
If you are considering an ATV tire purchase, here’s a quick review of the most common makes of an ATV tire.
Race Tires
Usually, race tires are knobby to provide greater grip and traction and they usually have a wider diameter than other ATV tires to help climb out and stay clear of ruts.
Trail Tires
Trail tires are made to be more durable, compounded with a special tear and snag resistant tire material to protect it against puncture in rough trails.
Sand Tires or Paddle Tires
The lightweight design of these tires prevents deep sink on soft and sensitive terrain. Also, because of their balloon like construction they afford the ideal level of flotation. The paddles are excellent in gripping even in the softest sand.
